I was driving around the only fjord in Ireland, Killary, in the north west of the country.
Whilst still in Co: Galway, shortly before crossinging into Co: Mayo, I came across this small and lonley set of gravestones. The inscription on the centre memorial celebrates the lives of the Nilsen family and the 2 outer stones clearly identify the occupants as coming from Bundorragha and Hollywood, California.
Despite undertaking some local and internet research, I can find no futher information on this little grave yard or its occupants.
It seems a long way to come to be buried in Co: Galway after living in Hollywood but the beauty and obvious stillness of the locale cannot be beaten - a stunning place to be laid to rest.
