The Blue Stack Mountains are situated in the south of Co: Donegal. The region is very remote and the weather can be extremley wild. There are only 2 main activities in the mountains. Firstly, the numerous bogs are a great source of peat and signs of cutting can be found along the few roads that cross the area.

The second activity is sheep farming. Sheep are allowed to roam around the mountains and live a pretty lonely existence.

High up on a mountain road I found this solitary sheep who just stood and watched me whilst I slowly took out my trusty Nikon and fired off a series of shots. This image, to me, clearly illustrates the remoteness and desolation of this mountainous area.
