Alexander James "Alex" Harvey was a Scottish blues and rock musician.

 

His career spanned nearly 30 years and is best remembered for being the frontman of 'The Sensational Alex Harvey Band'. He built himself a reputation for an exciting live performer during the 1970s.

 

In 1972 he formed the 'Sensational Alex Harvey Band' with Zal Cleminson, Chris Glen and cousins Hugh and Ted McKenna.

 

The Band had several Top 40 hits including a cover version of the Tom Jones hit "Deliah" which reached number 7 in 1975.

 

On 4th Februay 1982 Alex suffered 2 massive heart attacks whilst awaiting to board a ferry from Belgian and he died on the way to hospital.
